The system ensures an optimal success of the ironing, stamping, staking, embossing and finishing operations of different types of leather and also of fabrics and other synthetic materials.
Evolution Tech led the research project called “Cold cylinder – a new technology for finishing high performance leathers with superior environmental sustainability” co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the Veneto region and realised with the collaboration of the Engineering Department “Enzo Ferrari” – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The objective of the project just completed by the Venetian company was the development of an innovative high-performance cold dyeing system, which would ensure an optimal success of the ironing, stamping, staking, embossing and finishing operations of different types of leather and also of fabrics and other synthetic materials. The designed technological approach included also the search for innovative materials and plant architectures to maximise energy and resource savings. The results obtained are very interesting. In fact, the project has led to a technological development that allows cold pigmentation, ensuring major environmental sustainability, process cost and waste reduction. The new machine is built around an operator roller (cold cylinder) coated with an innovative non-stick material and connected to a cooling device, so that the temperature on the roller surface is equal to or lower than 20° C for the entire process.
